内容記述 | Digital photo frames(DPFs) allow users to display a collection of digital images in the form of a slideshow. They also offer potential for assisting language learning? particularly vocabulary that can be visually represented. The authors hypothesized that if a DPF was set to continuous play in a prominent place where a learner spends a good deal of time, repeated exposure to the content would increase retention. This paper reports on a trial study in which DPFs were used in a freshman EFL communication class in a Japanese university during the fall of 2009.This paper will present qualitative data collected relating to student use and attitudes toward the DPFs.Based on the positive student responses collected in this trial, the authors are currently designing the second phase of the study to examine the effect of DPFs on long-term retention of content with a larger population and over a longer time scale. | |||||
