| 内容記述 | This book is founded on years of experience of administrative, research and educational activity on the part of the contributors, some of whom are world leaders in the fi eld. Besides providing a theoretical collection of ideas, the contributors provide real insight into the politics, the policies and the legislation that surround across-border interactions. The volume provides a valuable guide for academic, administrator and student alike about some of the concerns and opportunities that are present in across-border education. A greater emphasis has been placed on South-North interactions, rather than the usual North- South fl ow. Th is alternative emphasis also applies to the contributions that focus on regional institutions, and knowledge in the academy. With contributions from world-renowned experts with years of collective experience in "across b order" education, this volume focuses on the implications of globalization in higher education. In particular, it looks at relations between states and institutions that do not normally attract attention. The chapters analyze the interactions between the South and North, consider challenges for "non-elite" institutions, and examine the potential for knowledge flow and creation in across-border partnerships. |
